HOW DO I USE MY PRODUCTS?
Face Oils: Face Oils are generally the last step in your skincare routine, following any cleanser and treatment. Apply 4-6 drops to freshly cleansed skin. LUZ is lightweight and best used during the day as it offers gentle sun protection. SELVA is rich and best used in the evenings as it offers potent antioxidants that soak into the skin overnight.
Lotion Bars: Warm the Lotion Bar in your hands or massage in the rich oils directly over areas of your body in need of nourishment. A few swipes will moisturize the entire body.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY PRODUCTS?
We recommend storing our products in a cool, dark space. The Lotion Bars can be placed back in the original cloth inside the paper box or golden basket after each use. Because our Lotion Bars are made with pure oils and no wax, they melt beautifully on the skin. However, this also means they are especially heat-sensitive and should be stored away from direct sunlight.
HOW DO I LAYER THE FACE OILS?
You can layer these products or use them separately -- using one in the morning, and one at night or seasonally depending on your skin's needs. If you do layer, start with thinner products like treatments and serum so that can reach at a deeper dermal level and follow up with the Face Oil, which has the added benefit of gentle sun protection from the properties of some of the plant oils used in the formulation. Follow with your makeup and SPF.
IF I PUT OIL ON MY SKIN, WON'T I BREAK OUT?
Many people struggle with an imbalance of oil, leading to combination skin or excess dryness. The body often compensates by overproducing sebum (natural oil), which can clog pores and cause acne. However, using plant oils that mimic the skin’s natural oils signals to the body that hydration is already present, reducing the need for excess oil production. All of our ingredients are selected for their unique, beneficial properties, designed to support and balance the skin without disrupting its natural processes or microbiome.
HOW LONG DO PRODUCTS LAST?
Full size Face oils last 4-6 months. Lotion bars last about 2-3 months
WHAT IS THE PRODUCT SHELF LIFE?
Our products are made with plant butters and oils, as well as vitamin E, all of which are incredible natural preservatives making the shelf life two years. However, for optimal usage, we recommend using it within a year after opening.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN?
Yes, all products are vegan - 100% plant ingredients.
ARE YOUR INGREDIENTS ORGANIC?
All ingredients are either USDA certified organic or intrinsically organic [wild foraged in the Amazon rainforest].
WHERE DO INGREDIENTS COME FROM?
Most of our plant oils and butters only grow and come to us directly from the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. Other ingredients come from the U.S., Europe, and Ecuador - like our sustainably farmed organic cocoa butter. All plant oils and butters are then formulated into products by our Terrain team in Minneapolis, MN
WHO MAY BE SENSITIVE TO OUR PRODUCTS?
All product ingredients are free from nut, gluten and other common skin irritants like fragrance, alcohol, parabens, preservatives. Our formulations include cocoa butter, so please do not use our Lotion Bars if you have or suspect a chocolate allergy. Our Face Oils include essential oils. Even though their concentration is minimal, please do a patch test or avoid use if your skin is prone to essential oil irritation.
ARE THE PRODUCTS PREGNANCY SAFE?
Congratulations! On each product packaging and website listing we provide a full ingredient list. We highly recommend the Face Oils to balance the skin natural sebum or heal hormonal breakouts. The Body Lotion Bars are fragrance-free and made without essential oils - gentle yet nourishing and safe for both mothers and babies. That said, we suggest consulting your physician to ensure these products align with their medical advice for your pregnancy.
IS YOUR PACKAGING SUSTAINABLE?
Our lotion bars are wrapped in unbleached, biodegradable cotton fiber cloth and come either in an FSC-certified biodegradable paper box or our signature golden packaging, which is fully compostable and made 100% from plants (golden grass) sewn with Buriti tree fibers.
Our face oils come with plastic droppers, the only plastic in our line. When recycling, please rinse items before placing them in your municipal bin. The face oils are packaged in amber glass, which is highly recyclable, and FSC-certified biodegradable paper boxes.
Our mini face oils come in glass bottles, and our lotion bars are packaged in biodegradable glassine paper packets.
For shipments, we use undyed, recycled cardboard boxes, kraft paper for cushioning, biodegradable cards and tissues printed with soy-based ink, and biodegradable, reusable unbleached cotton bags.
